We Need You More Than Ever
As a small business owner today, I feel like an ant trying to push a boulder up hill. What happens if I stop pushing? This question has required a lot of consideration over the last two years due to a cascade of daunting challenges — including a 25% increase in import tax, sky rocketing ocean freight costs, increasing labor costs and “the stall” caused by Covid-19.
Not knowing what 2021 will bring is more than a little stressful for small businesses of all kinds. A recent survey by the National Small Business Association found more than 60% of small businesses are experiencing reduced customer demand and 99% of respondents are “very” or “somewhat” worried about the economic impact from coronavirus.
To stay in business, we’ve had to increase the price of our Scout Carts. This doesn’t sit well with some customers who’ve expressed concern that we may be taking advantage of Covid-19 or the holiday season to raise prices. Please be assured that this is not the case. Changing circumstances effecting manufacture and importation of our Scout Carts has required the price increase.
To make it a little more palatable, we are now including a lower tray with the cart frame and baskets. This tray will allow customers to move boxes, bins and crates that don’t fit in the baskets.

The Scout Cart, now in year six, is produced and distributed by our small family business in Severna Park, Maryland.
